I was at a party and saw a guy that was bleeding out because he broke his left shoulder. It was the most surreal thing I’ve ever seen. The next day I got a call from the hospital and the guy wasn’t there.
A man named Kevin Ware suffered a gruesome injury to his shoulder in a party on the island of Blackreef. Kevin was drinking and fell off a ledge, breaking his shoulder. The police arrived on the scene and the partygoers dispersed, leaving Kevin bleeding and on crutches. They took him to hospital, but he refused medical attention because he thought he was cursed.
He had no recollection of anything that happened that night, nor did he recall any of the partygoers who came to his aid. Kevin’s father told me that he’s always had a thing for this island and was just a little disappointed that Kevin had no recollection. The entire incident seemed like a bad dream to Kevin.
The main character in Deathloop is apparently the best that he has at the time, but he has an off-the-cuff reaction even after he’s gone through the party. His mom is still there, but she’s been calling for him to come out to the island to get a drink. It’s been a long time since Kevin has had a drink, and he can’t remember exactly what happened.
It’s not that we don’t get a lot of Kevin’s flashbacks. It’s just we don’t find that we care about them. We are not that into Kevin’s adventures in Deathloop. We have other people to care about. The one time we’ve seen him in a flashback, he’s clearly the one in the spotlight for some reason, and he’s not being a good role model.
We have to come up with a better way to tell Kevins story than just saying, “He died.” It makes Kevins’ death seem like less of an “issue” than it really is.
We can make a great list of questions and answers to help us solve the mystery of how Kevins died.
Kevins death is a bit more complicated than just being in a coma. He was drugged and brainwashed. The game doesn’t really delve into the details of this, but we know that Kevins brain was damaged by something that was done to him in that coma. Kevins memories were erased, he has no idea who he is or what he does, and he doesn’t know the truth about what happened to him.
In the trailer we see the story through Kevins eyes, and can see the damage that was done to him. There are also hints that one of the Visionaries may be in the game too. When Kevins is in the coma, he is very aware that something is wrong. He can see the camera being aimed at him, and he can see a woman looking into the camera.
